A study on trend of New leprosy patients

Abstract
Since MBT adopted in leprosy treatment, diminution of incidence in leprosy is reliable not only in korea also global. Trend of declining the annual new. Cases are steady since active leprosy control work started in Korea. In our institute. 336
new
leprosy patients are diagnosed and controlled since founded in 1977.
The anothers analysed it and obtained some results as follow.
1) MB ratio(74.7%) revealed higher than that of national(63.9%)
2) Ratio between male and female(1.17 : 1.00) revealed lower than that of national(1.17 : 1.00).
3) Onset age group revealed shifting to right.
4) Trend of diability before diagnosed become lighter year by year
5) Among 336 cases only 12 cases born at metro seoul area but 65.2% live in the area
6) Among metro seoul residents, 68.5% are from other provinces near or far off
7) About 24.7% of the total cases are referred to other elinics for further control
8) Parent and sivlings tooled as the most important source of infection and monther¡¯s maiden home site was the next.
9) Bacillary negative convert time was 81.4 months in hh patients and 61.9 months in borderline(BL & BB)
10) PGL-I Ab detection test(ELISA) can remain as a treatment monitoring tool because it reveated decline the titers in all properly treated patients.
